Both Royal Caribbean ships in Alaska, the Radiance of the Seas and the Rhapsody of the Seas, have undergone a revitalization in the last couple of years. Although they were built 2001 and 1997, respectively, they feel like brand new ships. Indeed, there are interactive TV screens throughout, including in staterooms, showing guests what’s going on at any given time as well as new dining options, and a nursery, just to name a few.
One of the coolest changes, however, has to be the centrum with the accompanying R Bar where cocktails are made as they were back in the 60s, when it was an artform and entertainment. The centrum is a meeting place in the middle of the ship, a multisensory location with live music, aerial performances, and spectacular lighting.
